The Vedanta Bhaskar family offers salutations to this Mauli in deep reverence.
A Life of Service and Compassion
Professional Dedication
By profession, Dr. Kaka is a doctor. He practiced for many years in Murgud, a village on the banks of the Vedganga river in the Kolhapur district. Beyond his medical expertise, he was renowned within a 50 km radius as a compassionate, detached, selfless, and truly exceptional individual. He never let time constraints dictate his service, readily visiting patients at home, even on foot or by any available vehicle, considering it his utmost duty. He never exploited anyone financially, often using his own money to buy medicines or food for poor patients. He truly lived by the saying: "Acquire all good qualities, and having acquired them, teach them to others." The Maharashtra government even honored his professional work, especially in family planning, with an award.
Community Leadership
Dr. Kaka's selfless nature extended far beyond his medical practice into active community service. He tirelessly worked to eradicate harmful superstitions prevalent in society, such as those concerning perceived negative influences or ill-wishing. To demonstrate their falsehood, he would publicly make lemonade from "charmed" lemons found on the road and drink it, or deliberately step on chilies that people feared. His direct actions provided an immediate answer to deeply ingrained beliefs about such objects causing harm. While preserving our cultural heritage, he also championed appropriate modernity. Recognizing a need for community cohesion and philosophical engagement, he took the initiative to establish a Vitthal temple in the village, which served as a center for gathering and discussion. Noticing the lack of early childhood education in Murgud, and understanding the importance of foundational values, he established three kindergartens with the help of two like-minded colleagues. He also generously supported the education of poor students regardless of their background, even sponsoring one child until they became a doctor.

He authored numerous philosophical texts and delivered countless discourses across Maharashtra, India, and even abroad.
He was initiated into the Warkari philosophical lineage and later became a revered Shri Guru, guiding many on their path to self-understanding. He often began by encouraging practical steps like giving up alcohol and non-vegetarian food, knowing they could foster deeper personal growth. At 52, he retired from his medical profession to dedicate his entire life to the work of enlightening society through Advaita Vedanta.
Dr. Kaka's teachings, deeply rooted in Vedanta philosophy, are both logical and profound, making complex philosophical concepts truly accessible to everyone.
